Search for Cosmic Parity Violation
The four-point correlation of galaxies can reveal parity violation
generated at the beginning of the Universe. Our first analysis of data
from BOSS is
intruiging: arXiv 2206:03625
This was the culmination of work that began with an investigation
of isotropic n-point functions and their
algebra arXiv
2010.14418.pdf.
We realized that some isotropic four-point functions were
parity-odd and proposed a search in large-scale structure for parity

Eighteen Arbitrary Parameters of the Standard Model in Your Everyday Life
I have written a semi-technical paper (appropriate for beginning
graduate students in physics), which has been published in
Reviews of Modern Physics, 68, 951
(1996).
Einstein, Your Cell Phone, and You
In 2000 I wrote a piece about the purported dangers of cell phones, which was published in the
San Francisco Chronicle.
X-ray Imaging
I have worked with Dave Nygren and his team on the development of an x-ray imaging system, based on silicon strip
technology. This work grew out of detector development for the
Superconducting Super Collider: it is a real spin-off. I have
written a few short notes on related topics.
See, as well, our work on refractive x-ray lenses.

Vector Boson Fusion was developed by Sally Dawson and myself. Phys. Lett. 135, 196 (1984).

Using jets to tag VBF was proposed by S. Ellis, R. Kleiss, J. Stirling, and myself:Phys. Rev. D 35, 1626 (1987).
Azimuthal Dependence in Leptoproduction
The azimuthal distribution of the hadronic jet produced in leptoproduction reflects the underlying transverse momentum distribution of the quarks in the target hadron.
